About Berkshire Immigrant Center
Founded in 1997, the Berkshire Immigrant Center (BIC) has been a beacon of hope for immigrants in Berkshire County. Originally established to assist Eastern European Jewish refugees, BIC has evolved to serve a diverse population from over 90 countries. As the only nonprofit agency providing comprehensive low-cost immigration legal services in the area, BIC is dedicated to helping foreign-born residents navigate the complexities of the U.S. immigration system.
Impact on the Community
Since its inception, BIC has successfully helped more than 10,000 immigrants become naturalized U.S. citizens. Annually, the center assists over 800 individuals, offering services in multiple languages. Accredited case workers provide legal advice and representation for visa applications, ensuring that clients receive the support they need to thrive in their new home.
