The Berkeley Bayit was founded in the Spring of 1980 as a communal living space for college students at UC Berkeley. This vibrant community was established by students seeking to create an environment that promotes active participation in progressive Judaism. Over the years, the Bayit has evolved into a welcoming home for students from diverse Jewish backgrounds, encouraging them to explore their identities and engage in communal living.
