Our Story

Bergen Hatzalah is part of the New York-based Chevra Hatzalah, the largest volunteer-based EMS agency in the United States. Established in 1965 in response to a community tragedy, it has grown to over 1,800 volunteer EMTs serving Jewish communities across multiple countries.

Impact

Responding to approximately 75,000 calls annually, Bergen Hatzalah averages one call every seven minutes, delivering rapid emergency medical response at no cost to patients.
