Our Story

Founded in the early 1990s under the Bergen County Technical School District, the Bergen Electronic Library for Schools Consortium, known as BELS, has been a pioneer in transforming school libraries. Initially focused on automating library collections, BELS has evolved into an independent 501(c)(3) organization since 2009, serving 33 schools across 15 districts in North Jersey. BELS is dedicated to providing essential library services and support to enhance educational outcomes for students.
