Behind the Badge Foundation

Our Story

The dream of a state Law Enforcement Memorial began in 1995 when surviving family members and law enforcement officers visited the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. This inspired the incorporation of the Foundation in 1997, dedicated to honoring Washington heroes. After ten years of grassroots efforts, the Memorial was dedicated in May 2006.
