Our Story

Founded in 1985 by P. Leo Corcoran, Caritas Communities emerged in response to the growing number of homeless individuals in Greater Boston. The organization believes that homelessness can be prevented through affordable housing, focusing on Single Room Occupancy (SRO) as its housing model.

Impact

Caritas Communities provides permanent homes to over 1,000 very low-income individuals annually, helping to prevent homelessness and stabilize neighborhoods in Greater Boston.
