Our Story

The Beaverton Symphony Orchestra, originally founded as the Beaverton Chamber Symphony in 1984 by Dr. Charles Encell, has been a cornerstone of the Beaverton community. This orchestra was established to create a platform for amateur musicians to perform great music at affordable prices. Over the years, it has evolved significantly, with leadership changes and community initiatives, including a youth concerto competition. Following the passing of its music director, Travis Hatton, in 2022, Pierre-Alain Chevalier was appointed as the new Music Director in 2023, ensuring the continuation of its legacy of musical excellence.

Impact

The Beaverton Symphony Orchestra enriches the cultural landscape of Beaverton by providing local musicians with opportunities to perform and engage with the community.
