Our Story
BeautyUnited began as a grassroots initiative in April 2020, responding to the urgent needs of frontline responders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through innovative campaigns like Shop BeautyUnited Day and the #WeStandUnited video, the organization has successfully raised over $8.2 million for the Frontline Responders Fund. As the pandemic evolved into broader crises of economic and racial justice, BeautyUnited formalized its mission to support Black and Indigenous founders in the beauty and wellness sectors.
On July 1, 2020, the BeautyUnited Mentorship Program was launched, providing 52 Black and Indigenous beauty leaders with 312 hours of mentorship and educational resources. This initiative aims to bridge the gap in access to funding and opportunities, fostering a more equitable beauty industry.
In May 2021, BeautyUnited joined the nonprofit Tides Center, marking a significant step in its journey to create lasting change. As the organization prepares for its next Mentor Program launch, it remains committed to expanding educational resources and community support for those it serves.
