Founded in 1991 by Reverend Donald E. Robinson, Beacon House began as a small initiative providing homework help to children in a basement apartment in Edgewood, DC. Over the years, it has grown into a leading nonprofit dedicated to closing the education achievement gap for children in Ward 5.
Beacon House has successfully helped hundreds of students graduate from high school, equipping them with plans for continued education. Through afterschool education and youth development programs, it bridges the academic achievement gap and disrupts the cycle of poverty.
