Our Story

Founded by visionary leader Lillie P. Allen in 1983, Be Present, Inc. began with the transformative Black & Female: What is the Reality?™ workshop at Spelman College. This initiative united Black women and girls to discuss their realities and advocate for justice. Over the years, the organization has expanded its reach, welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds to join the mission of promoting justice and equity across race, gender, class, and power.
