Be Brave for Isla

Our Story

On March 31st, 2021, Isla Marie Smith was born six weeks premature, facing severe intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). Initially, her condition seemed manageable, but as time passed, Isla's health deteriorated. After extensive consultations and tests, she was diagnosed with MIRAGE Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. This diagnosis revealed that Isla's life expectancy was limited, with most patients not surviving past two years.

Despite the challenges, Isla's family chose to celebrate every moment with her. From dress-up parties to beach days, Isla was surrounded by love and joy until her passing on October 23rd, 2021. Her legacy lives on, inspiring a commitment to support other bereaved families who face similar heartaches.
