Our Story

BCarbon’s journey began in 2019 at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, where a dedicated working group was formed to enhance soil carbon sequestration efforts across Texas. Recognizing the need for innovative perspectives in the carbon market, BCarbon emerged as an independent nonprofit in 2020. With strong ties to the Baker Institute, BCarbon has become a leading center of expertise on carbon markets and ecological restoration, extending its influence across the United States and internationally.
