Our Story

Bayou Land Conservancy has been a leader in land preservation in the Houston region for over 30 years. Established in 1996, this organization emerged from the Bayou Preservation Association, dedicated to safeguarding the bayou systems of Houston. With a focus on protecting land along streams, BLC has successfully preserved over 15,000 acres of vital green space across 63 preserves.

Since its inception, BLC has preserved 15,288 acres, ensuring critical flood control, clean water, and wildlife habitats in the Houston area.
