Our Story
The Bayou La Batre Area Health Development Board, Inc. was founded in the late 1970s, thanks to a generous land donation from Mr. Marvin Mostellar. This initiative led to the establishment of Mostellar Medical Center in February 1978, which has since evolved into a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, becoming the largest FQHC in south Mobile County, dedicated to offering comprehensive medical care to all, regardless of their ability to pay.
