Our Story

Widespread homelessness, poverty, and hunger in the Bay Area led compassionate individuals to establish the Bay Area Rescue Mission in 1965. Starting with just 12 beds for men and 35 meals served daily, the mission has grown to provide shelter for women and families, a food pantry, and life transformation programs.

Impact

With generous support, the mission provides 130,000 nourishing meals and 6,692 nights of safe shelter each month. Annually, 288 individuals join life transformation programs, helping them regain self-sufficiency.

Why Donate?
