Our Story
Founded in 2016, Bay Area Furniture Bank began its journey in a humble garage, providing essential furniture to 18 families in its first year. By December 2019, this number surged to 80 families in a single month, showcasing a remarkable 450% increase. This growth reflects the pressing need for our services and the effectiveness of our business model. As of July 2022, BAFB has proudly furnished 4,510 families, including 3,947 adults and 2,784 children, while diverting over 2,400 tons of furniture from landfills, benefiting both our community and the environment.
Impact
Since our inception, BAFB has delivered 46,330 items of furniture, significantly enhancing the quality of life for thousands. Our mission is to restore dignity and stability to those transitioning out of homelessness or displacement.
