Our Story

The Bay Area Freedom Collective was founded by Simon Liu and a dedicated team of formerly incarcerated individuals to tackle the significant challenges faced by those re-entering society after incarceration. Established during the COVID-19 pandemic, BAFC addresses the urgent need for comprehensive re-entry services, including housing, employment assistance, and advocacy. The organization operates the Freedom House, a supportive transitional housing facility, emphasizing a community-driven approach to re-entry support.

Impact

BAFC has made a significant difference by providing over $8,000 in everyday necessities and $4,000 in canteen funds to inmates. The organization has successfully assisted numerous individuals in securing housing and employment, fostering a supportive community for its members.
