Our Story

Bates Mission was founded in 2021 by Whitney Elizabeth Bates to honor the legacy of her parents, Alan and Sheila Bates. Known for their generosity and commitment to service, Alan and Sheila dedicated their lives to helping underprivileged children. Their belief that laughter is the best medicine continues to inspire the mission today.

Impact

Each year, over 1,000 teens age out of foster care in Texas, with more than 40% facing homelessness. Bates Mission is dedicated to breaking this cycle by providing essential support and resources to former foster youth.
