Founded by Tina Wallace, Barriers Against Repeated Cruelty (BARC Chicago) emerged from the urgent need to rescue and rehabilitate abused animals. After fostering two dogs from a kill facility, the organization was born to provide emergency funding and resources for animals in dire situations, particularly those in kill facilities and domestic violence scenarios. BARC adheres to the NO Kill philosophy, ensuring that every animal receives the compassion and care they deserve.
BARC has successfully saved countless lives by providing direct funding to veterinary hospitals, training, and boarding facilities, as well as supplying food and medications for animals in need.
