The Story of The Barn at Spring Brook Farm
Founded in 2004 by Mary Beth Drobish, The Barn at Spring Brook Farm was born from a vision to merge her love for farm animals with her passion for helping children with disabilities. Recognizing the profound impact that animal interactions can have on children's physical and psychological well-being, The Barn was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2005. Nestled on a serene 17-acre farm, this unique facility is fully handicapped-accessible, ensuring that every child can experience the joy of animal care and farm life.
Since its inception, The Barn has become a sanctuary for children with disabilities and their families, offering a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive. The programs are designed to foster confidence, enhance self-esteem, and cultivate leadership skills among participants. Over the years, The Barn has evolved from a volunteer-driven initiative to a professionally staffed organization, supported by a dedicated Board of Directors and a passionate community of volunteers.
