Our Story

In a moment of urgency, a rescue email changed everything. A message read, “This dog to be put down on Tuesday at 3pm.” Horrified, action was taken to save her. Raspberry, as she was named, now lives happily in Encinitas. This experience sparked a journey that has led to the rescue and adoption of over 5,000 dogs since 2010. The Barking Lot was born from the belief that every dog deserves a chance at a better life.

Our Mission

Located in San Diego, The Barking Lot focuses on rescuing dogs from shelters, humane societies, and even Mexico, where they are at risk of euthanasia or abandonment. With a dedicated team of volunteers, the organization ensures that each dog finds a loving home where their needs are met, creating a harmonious environment for both pets and their families.
