About The Baobab Home
Founded in 2004, The Baobab Home is a community-focused NGO located on a 12-acre farm just outside of Bagamoyo, Tanzania. This organization was born from the vision of Terri Place and Caito Mwandu, who sought to create a safe haven for orphaned children. However, they quickly realized that many children were not truly orphaned but came from families struggling with HIV/AIDS, mental illness, and poverty. This understanding led to a holistic approach that not only supports children but also their families and the broader community.
Our Impact
Over the years, The Baobab Home has adapted its programs to meet the evolving needs of the community. Currently, the organization runs several key initiatives, including the Outreach Program, Breakfast Program, Regenerative Farm, Steven Tito Academy, and Children's Home, all aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
