Community Building

Our Story

Founded in 1937, the Banksville Community House began in Finch’s Country Store to provide space for a Boy Scout Troop. Recognizing the need for children's programs, R. Eugene Curry and Julian Howay secured financial support to establish the BCH. In 1939, the first president, Herbert Bertrand, acquired the old Jensen Farm and gifted it to the community, leading to the BCH's current location at 12 Banksville Road.

Impact

The BCH serves children, families, and adults in the Greenwich, North Castle, and North Stamford communities, providing recreational and educational programs that foster community engagement.
