Our Story

Founded in 1993 by passionate Bangladeshi artists in New York, the Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts (BIPA) began as a humble one-room schoolhouse in Astoria, Queens. With just six students, it has blossomed into a vibrant community with three locations in Brooklyn and Queens, dedicated to preserving and promoting Bangla arts. Over the years, BIPA has expanded its programming, offering diverse classes and producing new works that resonate with the Bengali community.

Impact

BIPA has played a crucial role in the development of young adults, with over 20% of its students attending gifted-and-talented high school programs. The organization has provided invaluable exposure to the arts for countless children in New York City, fostering creativity and cultural appreciation.
