Our Story

Founded by Lynne B. Kahn in November 2014, Baltimore Hunger Project began as a grassroots initiative to combat weekend hunger for schoolchildren. After years of preparing thousands of lunches for homeless women and children, Lynne recognized the urgent need to address food insecurity among children in Baltimore. What started as a service for just 30 children in two elementary schools has blossomed into a vital resource for over 2,200 children across the greater Baltimore area.

Our Impact

Dedicated to eliminating weekend childhood hunger, Baltimore Hunger Project provides essential food packages to children identified as food insecure. By bridging the gap between Friday and Monday, the organization feeds both bodies and minds, ensuring that children have the nourishment they need to thrive.

Why Donate?

Your generosity can make a significant difference. A small donation can feed a child for an entire weekend. With just $25, you can provide food security for one child for a month. A $100 donation sponsors a student for a full semester’s worth of weekend food, while $250 supports a child throughout the entire school year.

Join the Cause

Help Baltimore Hunger Project reach more children in need. Your contribution, whether in cryptocurrency or cash, can change lives. Together, we can ensure that no child goes hungry over the weekend. Donate today and be a part of the solution!
