Our Story

In 1966, a passionate group of 85 ballet enthusiasts, led by the late Marjorie Riggs, gathered at Converse College to establish Ballet Spartanburg. This vision transformed into a regional dance company dedicated to providing the community with access to live classical ballet. Over the years, Ballet Spartanburg has flourished, becoming a cornerstone of the Upstate's cultural landscape.

Impact

Each year, Ballet Spartanburg reaches over 20,000 children and adults through in-and-after school dance classes, partnering with local organizations to enhance dance education and outreach.
