Our Story
Co-founded in 1987 by acclaimed dancer/choreographer Daniel Duell and former ballerina Patricia Blair, Ballet Chicago is dedicated to educating and inspiring young artists through the study of classical ballet. This organization lays a foundation of life skills that empowers each dancer to realize their full potential. Ballet Chicago fosters an environment where the beauty of character is as important as the beauty of technique, promoting diversity and inclusion among students from various backgrounds.
With a curriculum based in the Balanchine Technique ©, Ballet Chicago offers an accelerated training program that provides dancers with invaluable on-stage experience. Students learn both new choreography and Balanchine masterworks, building confidence, camaraderie, and skills that translate to any arena. Ballet Chicago is not just a dance school; it is a home and a family, serving as a launching pad for exemplary youth.
