Our Story

Baldwin Emergency Medical Service began its mission on November 17, 1979, delivering vital ambulance services to the residents of Baldwin Borough. Over the past 40 years, Baldwin EMS has expanded its community-based emergency medical services to include Pleasant Hills, West Mifflin, Whitaker, Brentwood, and West Homestead. Covering approximately 26.5 square miles and serving over 75,000 residents, Baldwin EMS operates a fleet of nine Advanced Life Support ambulances, one rescue truck, and six support vehicles from two strategically located stations.

Our Impact

In 2024, Baldwin Emergency Medical Service proudly received the Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold Plus Level Recognition Award, a testament to the high-quality care provided to the community. This award underscores the essential role of EMS providers in the success of STEMI Systems of Care, highlighting the collaboration between pre-hospital and hospital services.
