Founded in 1962 as the Child Guidance Center of Bainbridge Island, Bainbridge Youth Services (BYS) was established by a group of concerned Islanders to address youth delinquency through local counseling programs. Over the years, BYS has evolved to support the social and emotional wellbeing of youth up to 18 years of age, offering free confidential counseling, peer tutoring, and job opportunities.
Each month, BYS serves up to 1,000 youth, providing over 90 hours of free therapy weekly and supporting 93 parents through family services in 2022.
