Founded in 1989 by a dedicated group of architects, lobbyists, and attorneys, the Bainbridge Island Land Trust was established to combat the rapid growth threatening the island's natural beauty. This organization provides landowners with the means to permanently preserve their properties, ensuring that Bainbridge Island remains a sanctuary for future generations.

With a commitment to conservation, the Land Trust has successfully protected 1,563 acres, including 1,149 acres that are open to the public. Through 48 conservation easements, the Trust plays a vital role in safeguarding the island's natural resources.
