Our Story

Founded in 1999, the Badlands Conservation Alliance emerged from a grassroots movement advocating for the preservation of the Dakota Prairie Grasslands. Local residents united to voice their concerns for the ecological integrity of the Little Missouri National Grassland, a vital 1 million-acre landscape. With a commitment to protecting roadless areas and promoting Wilderness designation, BCA has become a beacon for conservation in western North Dakota.

Our Impact

BCA has effectively raised awareness about the detrimental effects of oil and gas development on public lands, while actively engaging the community in conservation initiatives. Through various campaigns, BCA has fostered a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving these unique landscapes.
