Our Story

Baden Street Settlement was founded in 1901 by Therese Katz and Fannie Adler Garson in Rochester, NY, to provide essential services for families and address social issues. Originally focused on aiding Jewish immigrant women, the organization has evolved to serve a diverse community, primarily lower-income African American and Latinx populations.

Each year, Baden Street Settlement serves 5,000 individuals, offering vital services such as nutritional meals for children, emergency assistance, and support for mental health and substance abuse issues.
