Founded in 2015, Backyard Players & Friends is an inclusive community organization located in Rockville Centre, New York. This vibrant space is dedicated to providing every individual with a platform to share ideas, experience joy, and unleash their creativity. Offering a diverse range of classes including art, yoga, theater, dance, music, and creative writing, Backyard Players & Friends fosters an environment where each participant is valued and celebrated for their unique gifts.

Community Outreach and Support

In addition to weekly classes, Backyard Players & Friends actively engages in community outreach programs. The Employment Connections initiative helps participants develop job readiness skills and secure employment opportunities with local business partners. The Love, Nana program supports families in need while providing valuable service experiences through our donation center. Furthermore, "BYP on the Go!" is a traveling workshop that visits local schools, promoting emotional intelligence and helping individuals navigate challenging social interactions.

Impact and Achievements

Over the years, Backyard Players & Friends has proudly served over 200 participants through more than 20 course offerings and numerous community partnerships. In the fall of 2021, the organization opened The Backyard, an inclusive community space that serves as a central hub for classes and outreach programs. This commitment to inclusion and community connection makes a significant difference in the lives of many.
