Backwater Gamblers

Our Story

The Backwater Gamblers Water Ski Club was founded in 1980 with just 14 members, taking their name from the thrilling experience of water skiing on the backwaters of the Mississippi River. Over the past 45 years, this family-oriented organization has grown to 120 members, ranging in age from 1 to 74, and now performs at the scenic Ben Williamson Park in Rock Island, IL. The club has consistently ranked among the top five show ski teams at the National Water Ski Show Tournament, showcasing their dedication and talent.

Impact

Providing free water ski shows to the Quad City community, the Backwater Gamblers also host ski clinics and offer individuals with disabilities the chance to ski through their Access to Waves program.
