Backpack Buddies Seabrook Island is a dedicated all-volunteer nonprofit organization committed to alleviating child hunger in Charleston, South Carolina. Since 2014, this group has been providing essential weekend food and snacks to children living below the poverty line, ensuring that no child goes hungry during weekends and school holidays.

Our Impact

Currently, Backpack Buddies Seabrook Island supports 424 children across three local schools, delivering nutritious food bags each weekend. This initiative fills a critical gap for children who rely on free meals during the school week but face food insecurity when school is out.
