Backfield in Motion is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of inner-city youth through education and athletics. Founded in 2000 by Joe Davis, this initiative bridges the gap between opportunities available to inner-city youth and those in more affluent areas. The mission focuses on fostering educational excellence and personal growth, using athletics as a motivating force to improve academic performance and life skills.

Backfield in Motion provides a continuum of services from elementary school through high school and beyond, equipping youth with critical skills for success in both school and life.
