About Bach Society Houston

Founded in 1982 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Bach Society Houston has dedicated itself to presenting the timeless cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach. Under the leadership of the late Robert Lynn and current director Rick Erickson, the Society has evolved into a fully independent 501(c)(3) organization, gaining international acclaim as a cultural ambassador for Houston.

With a commitment to historically-informed performance practices, the Society has performed at prestigious events, including the BachFest in Leipzig, Germany, marking a significant milestone as the first professional American choir to receive such an invitation.
