Our Story
Founded in 2008 by passionate individuals, the Azulita Project emerged from a deep concern for the escalating plastic pollution and excessive use of chemical pesticides in the Los Llanos region of Guerrero, Mexico. Initially a volunteer-driven initiative, it has evolved into a comprehensive program that includes organic farming education, recycling efforts, and community engagement through sports and arts. In 2014, the project pivoted to focus on creating sustainable economic incentives for recycling, leading to the establishment of a facility that captures ocean-bound plastic, cleans it, and prepares it for recycling into new products.
