Our Story
Ayodele, a Yoruba word meaning joy in the home, embodies a sisterhood of women dedicated to the study, healing, and expression of African drum and dance from a feminine perspective. United by a passion for empowering women and children, this organization fosters community through the rich heritage of African culture. By exploring the rituals, music, and dances of Africa, Ayodele Drum and Dance aims to piece together the broken woman, freeing her from subliminal imprisonment and enhancing familial bonds.
Tracing the similarities throughout the African Diaspora, Ayodele recognizes that Africa is everywhere, and everywhere is Africa. Through the exchange of knowledge and experience, the organization strengthens the sisterhood of women whose feet are firmly rooted in joy and cultural pride.
