Our Story

Founded in 2009, the African Youth and Community Organization (AYCO) is a culturally specific, community-based nonprofit dedicated to serving the East African immigrant and refugee community in the Portland Metropolitan Area. AYCO's mission is to settle the past, engage the present, and hope for the future, fostering cultural identity and integration.

Impact

AYCO has played a crucial role in supporting East African immigrants and refugees, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, by assisting clients with unemployment applications, job seeking, and academic support.
