Founded in 2012 by Kristine and Tony George, Awakening Angels is a dedicated non-profit organization inspired by their son, Mikey, who was born with Down syndrome. Following Mikey's tragic passing due to leukemia in 2019, the organization was established to enhance the quality of life for individuals affected by developmental disabilities, Down syndrome, and Autism.
Awakening Angels has significantly improved the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities through various programs and partnerships. Notably, the construction of the Michael T. George Student Success Center provides essential support for students with special needs.
