Our Story

The Autism Society of Greater Akron (ASGA) was founded in 1987 by dedicated parents seeking support for their children with Autism. Initially an all-volunteer organization, ASGA has evolved significantly, hiring its first full-time staff member in 2011 to meet the increasing needs of the community. With a diverse Board of Directors, ASGA is committed to providing essential programs and services across Summit, Stark, Medina, Portage, and Wayne counties.
