About the Austin Empty Bowl Project
Founded in 1997 by Kit Adams, the Austin Empty Bowl Project is inspired by the original Empty Bowls initiative from Michigan. This nonprofit organization aims to combat hunger in the Austin area by hosting an annual event where local potters donate handcrafted bowls. Attendees purchase these bowls along with delicious soup from local restaurants, with all proceeds benefiting the Central Texas Food Bank and Meals on Wheels Central Texas.
