Support Visual Artists

Our Story

Aurora PhotoCenter originated in June 2019 when Keliy Anderson-Staley constructed a tintype studio at Tube Factory Artspace. Over four days, nearly 100 Indiana residents had their tintype portraits created, showcasing the process of taking and developing images. These portraits were featured in the exhibition, hyphen American, at Tube in July 2019. Aurora PhotoCenter is dedicated to supporting visual artists working in photography through exhibitions, residencies, workshops, and access to creative tools.

Impact

Aurora PhotoCenter is the only nonprofit in Indiana devoted exclusively to photography, serving as a vital hub for the arts community. It highlights emerging work by local artists and fosters inspiration and connections by featuring internationally exhibiting, award-winning photographers.
