Our Story

Alyce Knaflich, a dedicated veteran of the US Army for 19.5 years, faced unimaginable challenges after her military service. Following her discharge, she battled PTSD and homelessness for nearly a decade. Recognizing the urgent need for support, Aura Home Women Vets was established to assist homeless women veterans in Western North Carolina.

Impact

Currently, Aura Home Women Vets supports nearly 700 homeless women veterans across 9 counties, addressing the alarming rise in female veteran homelessness.
