Our Story

Founded in 2005 by Adele Hagood and Candace Armstrong, the Augustine Literacy Project – Charlotte is dedicated to transforming the lives of children in under-resourced communities through literacy. With roots in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, this initiative has expanded to multiple states, utilizing the proven Orton-Gillingham approach to provide effective reading instruction.
