Atlanta Ballet: A Legacy of Dance
Founded over eight decades ago by visionary Dorothy Moses Alexander, Atlanta Ballet has been a beacon of artistic excellence in the community. From its inception as the Dorothy Alexander Dance Concert Group, the organization has played a pivotal role in the regional ballet movement. In 1946, it became the first dance company in the nation to support a symphony, donating annual proceeds to the Atlanta Youth Symphony, which evolved into the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
Today, Atlanta Ballet continues to honor Miss Dorothy's dream through the Centre for Dance Education, established in 1996. This initiative nurtures young dancers and offers creative outlets for adults, ensuring that the joy of dance is accessible to all.

Atlanta Ballet enriches the community by sharing the transformative power of dance, inspiring audiences with exceptional performances, and empowering students through top-tier education.
