Athletes Committed to Educating Students (ACES) was founded in 1994 by Dr. Rajiv Shah, who recognized the need for a supportive environment where students could thrive academically. ACES has been dedicated to closing Minnesota’s academic opportunity gap by offering exceptional math and social-emotional education through sports. Over 10,000 students in grades 4-8 have benefited from ACES programming, which is uniquely supported by every major Minnesota professional sports team.
Since its inception, ACES has positively influenced the lives of more than 10,000 middle schoolers in Minnesota. Research indicates that students who engage frequently with ACES show significantly higher attendance and graduation rates, with 95% of 8th graders maintaining enrollment in 9th grade compared to 73% of their peers.
