Our Story

The Athens Area Homeless Shelter, Inc. (AAHS) has been a beacon of hope since 1986, starting as a modest ten-cot facility to address the urgent need for emergency shelter in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia. Over the years, AAHS has evolved, expanding its services to include meals, laundry, and comprehensive case management, all aimed at supporting homeless individuals and families, particularly those affected by systemic issues.

Impact

Since its inception, AAHS has successfully sheltered over 100 families, including single dads and intact families, guiding them towards economic self-sufficiency.
