Our Story

On January 6, 2009, the journey of aTeam Ministries began when Andy and Jan Thrower faced the heart-wrenching diagnosis of their 16-month-old son, Anderson, with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Through the challenges of treatment, they recognized the profound needs of families navigating the world of pediatric oncology. This inspired the creation of aTeam Ministries, dedicated to offering vital support to families traveling to Birmingham for treatment.

Impact

Since its inception, aTeam Ministries has supported over 575 patient families, providing essential emotional, spiritual, and financial assistance. The Home Away from Home program has benefitted 97 families, ensuring they have a safe place to stay during treatment.
